
ABC Radio Australia is now available on DAB+ digital radio in Australia. The service officially launched on DAB+ in March 2026.
Availability and How to Listen
If you are in one of the coverage areas with a DAB+ enabled radio, you can tune in.
- Coverage Areas: It is available in all Australian capital cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Darwin), as well as the Gold Coast and Launceston.
- Tuning In: To find the station, simply scan or retune your DAB+ digital radio. Once the scan is complete, look for "ABC Radio Australia" in the station list.
About the Station on DAB+
- Programming: ABC Radio Australia offers 24-hour programming focused on Pacific news, music, sport, and culture, including stories about Pacific communities living in Australia.
- Audio Quality: The ABC has adjusted the bitrates of some of its other networks to accommodate the new station, but all ABC DAB+ networks continue to maintain higher audio quality than most commercial stations.
If you are unable to receive the station, you can still listen via the ABC Listen app or the ABC Pacific website.
